Kambo – Amazonian Medicine
Deep Amazonian medicine for cleansing, strengthening, and renewal
What is Kambo?
Kambo is an ancient natural medicine originating from the indigenous tribes of the Amazon, where it has been used for centuries as a tool for healing, cleansing, and strengthening the body and mind. It is derived from the natural secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog, in a way that does not harm it, and is considered a sacred, profound, and precise medicine.

The Kambo frog's secretion contains a variety of bioactive peptides, some of which have also been studied in modern science and found to affect the immune system, lymphatic system, liver, metabolism, and inflammatory conditions. Therefore, many of the effects are felt on a physical level: cleansing, detoxification, sharpening of the senses, and a feeling of new energy.
Modern medicine is studying Kambo with great interest due to its unique biochemical "cocktail". The secretion contains short chains of amino acids (peptides) that act like keys that fit perfectly into locks (receptors) in the human body.
Among the notable components are Dermorphin and Deltorphin, known for their strong effect on pain relief and deep relaxation, and Phyllomedusin and Phyllokinin, which act on the contraction and dilation of blood vessels and the digestive system – enabling the deep physical cleanse.
This combination allows Kambo to cross the Blood-Brain Barrier and act systemically and powerfully, not just locally.
Beyond the physical aspect, the experience also touches deep emotional layers.
Many report the release of fears, inner clarity, a sense of relief, and an energetic uplift – as if something “heavy” has been released.
The ceremony allows for a pause, presence, and reconnection to the body. It is a process that is not psychedelic, but it does have emotional and spiritual depth.
People turn to Kambo for various reasons:
- Deep physical cleansing
- Energetic renewal
- Immune system strengthening
- Emotional and trauma release
- Coping with mental stagnation
- Return to center and balance
The treatment is suitable for those looking for a natural, honest, and precise approach to healing from within.
In the tribal tradition (such as the Matsés and Kaxinawá tribes), Kambo is not only used when physically ill.
The main purpose is to remove what they call "Panema" – heavy energy, bad luck, chronic fatigue, or a "fog" that prevents a person from hunting and living with clarity.
In our Western language, we call it mild depression, stagnation, procrastination, or lack of vitality.
Kambo is considered the "vaccine of the forest", shaking up the system and bringing it back on track for vitality and synchronization.

The Kambo Treatment Process
The treatment is carried out in four clear, structured, and well-held stages. Each stage is designed to create a safe, containing, and precise space to allow for true and meaningful healing.
Stage 1 - Preparation & Intention
Before the treatment begins, we go through a short preparation including conversation, guidance, breathing, internal tuning, and opening a safe space. The goal is to establish quiet, safety, and a personal connection before the process begins.
Stage 2 - Choosing an Intention
Your intention guides the entire process. This is an important stage where we clarify what you want to release, heal, understand, or strengthen. The intention allows the Kambo to 'know' where to go.
Stage 3 - The Ceremony
The points are gently placed on the skin, and the Kambo begins to work quickly. This is a stage of deep physical and emotional cleansing, where you are accompanied throughout with sensitivity and full presence.
Stage 4 - Recovery & Integration
After the cleanse, there is rest, drinking, and guidance for the continuation. This is a stage where the body returns to balance, and the experience begins to be digested and integrated. Here you can surrender to relaxation, listen to pleasant music that I will sing and play for you, to give the body all the possible space to connect to itself.
Safety and Preparation
Kambo is not suitable for everyone. There are medical conditions where the treatment is strictly prohibited. I conduct a comprehensive introductory call and perform a full medical suitability check before every treatment. The session takes place in a safe, accompanied, and pleasant space. Working with Kambo is intensive, which is why safety is a supreme value in my clinic. My approach combines traditional knowledge with strict Western protocols.
When is Kambo not suitable?
- Severe heart problems
- Brain and blood vessel conditions
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Immunosuppressant drugs
- Unbalanced epilepsy
