The Devil

Breaking Free

Light

The Devil represents the chains we place on ourselves — dependencies, addictions, patterns, and limiting beliefs we assume are inseparable from who we are. When it appears, it reminds us that the chains are loose — we can remove them at any moment if we choose. The Devil teaches that the shadow is not an enemy — it is a part of us that needs to be seen so we can be free. When we shine light on fear, it loses its power.

Shadow

When The Devil appears in shadow, it invites you to examine the addictions and patterns you refuse to see. What habits do you know harm you yet continue to maintain? What beliefs about yourself keep you small? Its shadow also explores denial — 'I don't have a problem, everything's fine.' The invitation is to look honestly at what binds you and remember: you are not the person your fears say you are.
